a lace vest // part 1: styled with a maxi dress

Hello!  It’s Kelsey here with another gem from out Oregon Coast trip.  (In case you missed them, here are the first two posts from this series: Anchors Aweigh and White Lace at Haystack Rock(insert link).

I’d like to introduce my beautiful friend Clara!  She accompanied my sister and I on our road trip this May, and has the most adventurous spirit and killer style.  She’s also a wedding photographer, and you can see her work at Clara Cecilia Photography’s website.

Clara loves lace as much as I do, and chose to style this stunning fringed lace vest.  She layered it over a soft and romantic floral maxi dress, which added gorgeous texture to her outfit.  The details on this vest are so beautiful, and it’s versatility is amazing.

I’ll be styling this vest in a completely different way, so keep your eyes peeled for the next post!

Hello!  It’s Kelsey here again, with another post from the coast!  In case you missed my first post, you can read it here.  I recently went on a road trip down the Oregon coast with my sister and a dear friend, and we did a few photo shoots along the way!

Now, I adore lace in any form, and this dress is no exception.  Vintage inspired lace, a sweet braided belt, and a gorgeous scalloped hemline are all details that make this dress stand out!  It can so easily be dressed up or down, and I just adore the femininity of it!  Summer’s around the corner, and it’s the perfect piece to easily transition from day to night.

Until next time,

The Leather Look for Spring

Spring has begun advantageously!

Trees are budding, flowers are flooding the streets with color and the aroma of freshly cut grass fills the air. To say the least, this time of spring has been a relief compared to the constant dreariness of winter.

Now, where do you go from here?

You need to spice things up after being cooped inside month after month. Restrained from the natural intake of vitamin D and feeling the warmth of the sun rays.

What better way, then hitting the pavement in an edgy chic manner!

This faux leather, biker styled, vest is detailed excellently. With its diamond sewn pattern lapels and back panels, silver diagonal zipper closure and two silver  front zipper pockets.

Wear it with a flowy skater dress, converse and a cutting edge statement necklace!

You’ll be spring ready in no time!!

Something for Angels

Ever crave a look that channels your modest goddess while slippin the sexy vibes? Oh yes you do 😉

While the goal is always to feel our best, sometimes it’s hard to bridge the gap between obvious “sexywear” and a look we feel is a little more subtle. While I’ve said it before, the key to the equation is lace! This summer, I’ve become entranced with the elegant lace maxi. The epitome of “conceal to reveal”, lacy, bohemian maxis are stellar for asserting your right to be worshipped. Women are angel babes and we have this right. Exercise your divine rights, man.

While successfully elongating every inch of your luminous, goddess-like frame, ivory lace is the puurrrfect means for delivering notes of both sex appeal and tender, unapologetic femininity. These gals are the slow-pour, full-bodied brew of your closet 😉

When it comes down to it though, I think that the most important thing is feeling like the angel you are, and this one certainly did the job 🙂

Hello there!  This is Kelsey, from The Farmer’s Daughter, here with something a bit different today.  The blonde beauty in these photos is my younger sister Jordyn!  We just returned from a girl’s road trip down the Oregon Coast, and can’t wait to share a few more outfit posts from our time down there.

Jordyn has a slightly retro/eclectic style, and fell in love with the Mare Dress at first sight!  It has such a fun shape, and is definitely perfect for a beach day.  The fabric is light and comfy, and it has the sweetest little anchor buttons as well!

Jordyn decided to go all out, and paired the dress with a pair of anchor earrings from the Anchor Boat Earring set, as well as a whimsical gold temporary tattoo.  So perfect!

Keep your eyes peeled for more posts from the Oregon coast coming soon!

Winter mystique: the ornamental knit.

Thick mitts cocooning already numb fingertips, red noses, an early morning marathon between you and the prairie wind to avoid even one second more in the wintery, “great outdoors” – yeah.. that’s February.

Do you dare to keep reading? haha

Alas, fear not – March is close at hand and so is nicer imagery!

Featured: the Jenny Cardigan, available, here, on Farminista.com.

Am I right though, that it’s sometimes tough to equate the bleaker months of the Canadian experience with an atmosphere ringing of mystique? While my spools won’t craft me a breathing Casanova, I couldn’t help but find an unlikely charisma in this richly patterned, bohemian knit.

Crowned in texture from neck to hem, this stunning, ornamental cloak entices warmer days and, best of all, can still be donned when these arrive. While, for obvious reasons, I have slipped on a silky pair of tights in the images above, feel free to take this look outdoors, when the time arrives, by pairing it with a mode pair of heels and your favourite LBD 😉

There is really no need to wait until the arrival of green grass and shirtless men with washboard abs, parading on longboards to turn up the heat – I think we’ve got this one covered 😉
